Introduction to Watercolor
For ages 16+. Do you enjoy drawing and yearn to master the technique of watercolor? Here is your opportunity to learn the secrets of using color in your compositions while gaining experience working in the medium of watercolor. Enrollment is limited to participants over age 16 with some drawing experience. A materials list will be provided when you sign up for the class.

6 hour group workshop

Oil Painting in the style of the Old Masters: Oil Glaze Technique
For those who have taken Drawing for the Non-artist with an Malmström. Though the process demands a little patience, creating rich, luxurious images in oil really isn't that hard. You'll create your own contemporary image in the same style as the Reniassance masters. Course includes constructive critique, an intro to color theory, and many demonstrations. A material list will be provided at first class meeting.

Perspective: Tricks to drawing realistic objects
For those who've previously studied with John or Susan Malmström. The intimidating mysteries of perspective made easy! Master a few simple techniques and you'll be able to draw any object with convincing realism. In combination with observational skills, perspective is an essential element in any artist's bag of tricks.

For ages 16+ An introductory, one-day class that demonstrates how artists use perceptual skills in order to draw objects, people and landscapes in a realistic manner. With practice, anyone can utilize these skills to draw what they see.

Drawing for the Non-Artist
For ages 16+. Always wanted to draw, but think you can't? This course is designed to equip the adult non-artist with the perceptual skills necessary to draw confidently in a realistic manner. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-intimidating.

8 weeks
Drawing for the Non-Artist, Part II
For ages 16+. A course presenting drawing skills and techniques beyond the basic level. (Note: this class is open to those who have completed the Drawing for the Non-Artist course, or any introductory drawing skills class.)

4 weeks

Printmaking without a Press - or a Potato!

For ages 16+ This workshop introduces five different monoprint methods that anyone can use to produce prints in their own home with simple materials. It is also an excellent workshop for classroom teachers who want to share techniques with their students. Included is a brief overview of master artists who invented the techniques, and contemporary artists who continue to use them today. No previous arts experience is necessary.
