The themes that often resurface in my work include the passage of time, how we mark this passage, and how inanimate objects of the past can "speak" to the present. When complete, the series 100 Days of Solitude will consist of 100 watercolour paintings: separate still lifes of toys, chatchkas, souvenirs, and other 20th century detritus. Each painting, though executed in a richly realist style, is finished in no more than one day's time. This series is meant to evoke the positive and negative emotions of sentiment that accompany the depicted objects, which have been collected through many years and from disparate places.
