Who is RSDJO?
At its core, RSDJO is a trio. In alphabetical order, we are:

Susan “Sugarpuss” Hall: Percussion
During intermission at our next gig, sidle up to Sugarpuss and ask her about the secret early training experience she shares with many of the greatest drummers in jazz. (Hint: It involves killer shoes!) Now-a-days she prefers to tap out a rhythm on her vintage Zildjians or signature Sheena E bongos. Learn about Susan’s visual art career as L’Artiste Extrodinaire!

John Malmström: Bandleader and reeds
John has been described as having a pathological obsession with jazz.Want to swing to the sophisticated purr of a vintage clarinet or the breathy, mellow tone of a 1940 Buescher “Big B” tenor or alto sax? Maybe you’d prefer to thrill to a screaming, syncopated run of rapid-fire hot jazz? Then Malmström’s your man. His goal is to find new creative expression within a vintage style — and feed that jazz monkey that’s always on his back. to learn more about John’s other projects, visit: www.johnmalmstrom.com.

Wanda Waterman: Guitar, Banjo, Vocals
As Wanda’s infectious and rock-steady rhythm spills from her guitar or tenor banjo, you might forget that she’s a widely published author, notoriously successful union agitator and critically acclaimed poet. We’re excited to report that Ms. W’s to-do list for RSDJO includes penning more original, jazz neo-standards. We can hardly wait! Learn more about Wanda, The Mindful Bard!
Want a Big(ger) Band?
RSDJO likes to travel light, but nothing’s more fun, when the occasion allows, than going BIG! The band maintains an active network of hard swinging musicians and performers ready to make as big a sound and as swell a show as any gig requires!
