Radio StarDust Jazz Orchestra, the originator of the “Art Swing” movement (and one of the few bands concentrating in this style) performs jazz standards and original material in a style that recalls Swing when it was romantic, sophisticated, often gritty, sometimes obliquely carnal — a time before jazz succumbed to the enervating embrace of popular culture and before it retreated into the intellectual aerie of hard bop.
